Draft Environmental Assessment (EA)

The Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport Commission, owner and operator of the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (SHD), proposes both airfield and terminal area projects including facility development, navigational aids, land acquisition, obstruction mitigation, hangar construction, and utility improvements, in accordance with the approved Airport Layout Plan.  The purpose of the project is to provide airfield infrastructure to accommodate current and future operational demand, enhance safety, and enhance customer service at SHD.

A Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared to examine the environmental consequences of the proposed project.  The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is the lead agency under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

A copy of the Draft EA is available for public review here.
